Launch of the Eighth Rapid Bus Line in Amman

Khaberni - The CEO of Modern Amman Vision for Transportation, Mohammed Al-Laymoon, said that today, Tuesday, witnessed the launch of the eighth rapid bus line within the capital, with the buses operating on this line being fully electric.

Al-Laymoon added that these buses are environmentally friendly and have zero carbon emissions, which are required by modern sustainable transportation and the continuous development in the transportation sector in Amman, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

He noted that transportation through electric power is sustainable both environmentally and economically, as it saves time and effort for the government sector and citizens, and serves all sectors.

Al-Laymoon explained that this line represents a revival of the old Raghdan Tourist Complex, noting that the launch of this line from this site will serve many areas that were not previously covered by the rapid bus service, passing through Raghdan Tourist Complex, then Al-Marbat Bridge, Tariq area, the Sports City, and reaching Swaileh.

He pointed out that 15 buses operate on this line, with a frequency of every 20 minutes, contributing to reducing traffic congestion on roads that experience high traffic during peak times.

Al-Laymoon confirmed that the Amman Municipality aspires to increase the number of buses to meet the local needs of the citizens in Amman city, especially university students and employees.

He indicated that there is a direction to purchase an additional number of buses in order to increase the fleet on all routes.

Al-Laymoon mentioned that Modern Amman Vision currently operates 8 rapid bus lines, with a total of 352 buses within the Amman Bus and Rapid Bus system providing services in Amman, Zarqa, and Madaba.
