7 Wounded Children from Gaza Arrive in Switzerland for Medical Treatment

Khaberni - 7 wounded children from the Gaza Strip, accompanied by twenty-seven of their relatives, arrived in Switzerland to receive medical care in Swiss hospitals, as part of a humanitarian operation organized by the Swiss Federal Government in collaboration with the World Health Organization and Doctors Without Borders.

The Swiss Ministry of Defense, Civil Protection and Sports stated in an official release that the children have serious injuries from the war in Gaza, and were first transferred to Jordan to receive first aid, then flown to Switzerland via aircraft of the Swiss Air Force and the Swiss Air Rescue Service “Rega”.

The statement explained that the children and their family members will be distributed across various Swiss regions and will receive medical care in university and cantonal hospitals specialized according to the needs of each case.

The Swiss government confirmed that these children will also undergo procedures that ensure them temporary residence and legal protection during their treatment and rehabilitation period.

The authorities said this initiative represents the first phase of a broader humanitarian program aimed at hosting about 20 children from Gaza injured during the war, as part of Switzerland’s efforts to provide humanitarian and medical support to the categories most affected by the war.
