Khaberni - The head of the olive presses' owners in Jordan, Taysir Najdawi, said in comments for Hayat Radio that the overall situation for this year's olive season is “good and should not cause worry,” and Najdawi denied the accuracy of what is being circulated about the price of an olive oil tin reaching 150 Jordanian Dinars.
Najdawi's statements came after the Minister of Agriculture threatened to open the door for importing olive oil, at a time when the government allowed Khaberni to bring in 5 olive oil tins with a visitor from the West Bank amid speculations that the price of an oil tin in Syria this season might reach about 50 dollars.
Najdawi said that the prices will be close to last season, Khaberni explained that the price of the tin would range between 100 to 120 Jordanian Dinars.
