Khaberni - The Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Administration confirmed on Sunday that there are no modifications to the specifications of private vehicle plates.
The licensing administration added in a statement to "Al-Mamlaka" channel that the modification is only to the specifications of government plates, plates of the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Judicial Council, the Aqaba Authority, and diplomatic bodies.
The Cabinet decided in its session held on Sunday, chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, to approve the justifications for the draft amendment of the vehicle plates system for the year 2025; in preparation to send it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau to complete the procedures for its issuance as per the regulations.
The amendments to the system are in line with the Arabic Language Protection Law; as the vehicle plates will be adopted in Arabic, and this will be implemented after the system is issued in its final form.
According to the draft system, the specifications of the plates will be modified to facilitate writing the entity to which the plates belong in Arabic, in addition to the abbreviations that were present.
The draft system will be published on the website of the Legislation and Opinion Bureau, before being approved by the Legal Committee and presented to the Cabinet again for final approval.
