Khaberni - Last month, Pattie Mallette, the mother of Justin Bieber, posted on her accounts pictures of her son accompanied by a lengthy prayer in which she asked for his healing and peace. However, Bieber's response weeks later carried a sarcastic tone that sparked controversy among his followers.
In her post dated September 22, Mallette wrote: "I wish you freedom, strength, clarity, and healing, Justin. May every chain of fear, confusion, burden, and pain break in the name of Jesus. Holy Spirit, surround him with truth, light, and protection. Heal every wound in his heart, mind, and body, visible and invisible, and restore what was taken, and cover him with perfection."
The mother continued: "Fill him with your love and comfort until it overflows. Continue to raise him as a voice for your kingdom, steadfast and aflame for you, Lord. Silence every voice that does not come from you, and make his life a strong testament to your power, love, and healing grace. Say amen if you agree."
Two weeks after this post, Justin Bieber commented with a brief phrase, saying: "The only thing I need healing from is my twisted pinky toe from playing ping pong," which was widely interpreted as a sarcastic remark about his mother's words.
The response of the 31-year-old Canadian singer triggered a wide wave of comments on social media, as many saw it as mockery of his mother who expressed her feelings genuinely, while others viewed it as a light-hearted reply that should not be overinterpreted.
In the midst of the ongoing discussion, American media outlets quoted sources close to Bieber saying that "the exaggerated anxiety about his mental and physical state is exhausting and regrettable, showing that people are insistent on keeping negative and harmful narratives alive despite the clarity of the truth."
The same source added that Bieber is currently focusing on his family life, especially being a father to his son Jack, along with being busy preparing for the release of new music in the upcoming period.
