Khaberni - The family of the late artist Abdel Halim Hafez has announced their immediate initiation of legal proceedings against the famous Egyptian doctor Diaa Al-Awadi, who made controversial statements that recently led to his disbarment from the medical syndicate.
Al-Awadi posted a video on social media platforms claiming to have "analytical" medical information about the health condition of the Black Andalusian and his treatment in London, suggesting there were medical errors, which infuriated the family.
The family confirmed through their "Facebook" account their absolute rejection of the content in the video, emphasizing that they "will deal with the matter through legal channels, without descending to the level of inappropriate responses," according to them.
The family clarified in a statement that "what happened is an unacceptable transgression against a great artistic figure who still enjoys widespread affection in Egypt and the Arab world," asserting that "the purpose of the video was to stir controversy and attract views by offending a major artistic icon," in their words.
The family revealed that they have indeed started taking legal actions against Diaa Al-Awadi, through the law office of Yasser Qantoush, who represents the family's rights, ensuring that "everything mentioned in the video will be dealt with according to the law."
