Water Bill Jumps from 5 Dinars to 179 DinarsIs it Air

Khaberni - One of the residents of Al-Turkman neighborhood in Irbid, north of Jordan, was surprised by the water bill issued by Yarmouk Water Company for the month of September, which amounted to 179 dinars, jumping from an average of 5 and a half dinars for his usual monthly bills.

The citizen told "Khaberni" that his family consists of his wife and only child, and they use only one water tank, and that the significant increase in the bill indicates some error.

He mentioned that he approached Yarmouk Water Company to inquire about the reason, but the employees refused to take any action before the payment of the required amount.

Observers wondered whether the exaggerated bill value was due to the calculation of air in the water lines, which was discussed by the Minister of Water and Irrigation, Engineer Raed Abu Al-Saud.
