Khaberni - The eleventh annual conference for Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) in Aqaba was inaugurated today, Tuesday, under the sponsorship of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Imad Hijazin.
The conference represents the launch of the world's largest B2B platform specialized in destination weddings, with approximately 500 industry leaders from more than 70 countries participating in the city of Aqaba on the Red Sea.
The conference is organized by QnA International in partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the Jordan Tourism Board, transforming Aqaba into a hub for creativity, collaboration, and inspiration in the luxury wedding industry.
During a press conference, the Chairman of the Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Shadi Al-Majali, said, "We are proud to host the world's leading destination wedding planners in Aqaba, which is a celebration of creativity, luxury, and the art of turning dreams into reality."
He added that Aqaba is distinguished by its unique natural scenery, rich culture, and world-class hospitality, creating the perfect backdrop for crafting unforgettable experiences and shaping the future of destination weddings.
Meanwhile, the General Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, said that hosting the conference in Aqaba is a strategic step to enhance Jordan's position on the global tourism map, noting that the kingdom possesses unique attributes that make it an ideal destination for luxury weddings.
He confirmed the Board's commitment to supporting the wedding industry as a promising sector that contributes to enhancing the national tourism economy and reflects Jordan's image as a comprehensive tourist destination.
He added that the kingdom hosts about 15 exceptional historical sites suitable for events, ranging from ancient archaeological sites to stunning coastal locations, making Jordan an ideal platform to celebrate stories immortalized by history.
Arabiyat mentioned that hosting the conference in Aqaba helps enhance Jordan's global position in this specialized sector and affirms the Board's commitment to making the kingdom a leading destination for luxury celebrations.
