Khaberni - The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, welcomed last night the statement issued by Hamas, which announced its readiness to release hostages and engage on the basis of the recent proposal by US President Donald Trump.
Guterres urged in a statement, all parties to seize this opportunity to end the tragic conflict in Gaza, praising the state of Qatar and Egypt for their valuable mediation efforts.
He reiterated his firm call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the facilitation of unrestricted access to humanitarian aid, affirming that the United Nations will support all efforts to achieve these goals to prevent further suffering.
