Khaberni - US President Donald Trump told NBC News that the downing of an American plane will not affect negotiations with Iran.
In a brief telephone interview, Trump declined to discuss details of the ongoing search and rescue efforts in Iran following the downing of an American plane.
However, he expressed frustration over some of the coverage of what clearly seems to be an intense and sensitive military operation.
In response to a question about whether today's events will affect any negotiations with Iran, Trump said it will not affect them, adding: "No, not at all. No, it's war. We are in a state of war, Garrett."
Earlier, CBS News reported, citing its own sources, that the American fighter jet downed during a combat mission over Iran was a two-seater F-15E model.
The "Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters" in Iran also announced the downing of a fifth-generation advanced American F-35 fighter jet in central Iran.
Additionally, the Iranian news agency "Mehr" reported on Friday evening that an American helicopter was hit by an Iranian projectile during the search for pilots missing after their F-35 fighter jet was shot down Friday morning in central Iran.
