Khaberni - Manchester area police confirmed today (Thursday) that 3 people were killed in an attempted ramming and stabbing outside a Jewish synagogue in Manchester, northwest England, and it is believed that among the dead is the suspected attacker.

The police said in a statement on the "X" platform that three people are in critical condition, and that the attacker was most likely killed by police gunfire.

Manchester police clarified that a large number of people were inside the synagogue and advised people to avoid the area as their elements continue to deal with the situation.

Greater Manchester Police said in a series of posts on the "X" platform that someone called the police to the Hebrew "Heaton Park Synagogue" in Crumpsall shortly after 9:30 AM local time. The caller said they saw a car heading towards people, in addition to someone being stabbed.

The police said that minutes later, police fired shots.

They added: “A person was shot, believed to be the assailant”.

They indicated that four individuals are receiving treatment for injuries sustained by the car ramming or stabbing. Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, told the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC): “It seems that the immediate danger has ended”.

While stating that the authorities believe the suspect involved in the stabbing and ramming incident at the synagogue in the British city “died”. He told the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC): “The assailant is believed to have died, although this is not yet confirmed”. He explained that “as a result, some reassurance can be given that the incident is not developing or ongoing”.

King Charles III expressed his shock at the attack near a Jewish synagogue in Manchester. Likewise, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on the "X" platform that he was shocked by the attack.

He said: “I am horrified by the attack on a Jewish synagogue in Crumpsall”. He added: “The occurrence of this incident on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it all the more atrocious”.

The British Prime Minister expressed his sincere condolences to the relatives of those affected by the incident, as well as his gratitude to the emergency services.

Starmer stated that more police forces will be deployed at the synagogue in the United Kingdom after the Manchester attack.

Starmer made this statement while preparing to return to his country after attending a summit of European leaders in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Starmer plans to chair a meeting of the government's emergency committee.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Embassy in London condemned the attack and described it in a social media post as “heinous and very sad”.
