Trump reveals his stance on Irans participation in the 2026 World Cup

Khaberni - Donald Trump, the American President, stated that he does not mind Iran participating in the 2026 World Cup in the United States.

This was stated when he was asked by journalists in the Oval Office on Thursday about comments by Infantino on this matter "If Gianni (Infantino) has said so, I do not mind."

Trump added: I think we should let them play.

Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, reaffirmed on Thursday that Iran will participate in the 2026 World Cup and will play their matches in the United States, during his speech to the FIFA Congress held in Vancouver.

Infantino began his speech by stating clearly and immediately that "Iran will definitely participate in the 2026 World Cup," adding "and of course, Iran will play in the United States," which will host the finals in partnership with Canada and Mexico.

The participation of Iran in this year's edition of the tournament was shrouded in uncertainty since the outbreak of war in the Middle East in February following strikes by the United States and Israel.

Iranian officials had previously suggested relocating "Team Melli's" group stage matches from the United States to Mexico, but Infantino had earlier rejected this proposal.

According to the official schedule, Iran is set to play their three group matches in the United States: in Los Angeles against New Zealand (June 15) and Belgium (June 21), and then in Seattle against Egypt (June 26).
