Mojtaba The future of the region will be without America

Khaberni - Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei said, "A new chapter is forming in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz," asserting that the future of the region will be "without America," and in service of the progress, security, and welfare of its people.

In a message published by Iranian media today, Thursday, on the occasion of a national event in Iran, Mojtaba described the Gulf as a "blessing" that transcends being a water space, considering it part of Iranian identity and civilization, and a vital passageway for the global economy through the Strait of Hormuz and the Arabian Sea.

Mojtaba accused the United States of being a source of instability in the region, saying that the presence of Americans and their bases in the Gulf is "the most important factor for insecurity," and that the American bases "do not have the ability to secure themselves, let alone the security of their dependents."

He added that Iran, having the longest coastline on the Gulf, had made "the greatest sacrifices" for its independence and confronting foreigners and aggressors, referring to the expulsion of the Portuguese, the liberation of the Strait of Hormuz, and the confrontation with Dutch and British colonization.

Mojtaba stated that during the past two months, according to him, the people of the region witnessed the "firmness and vigilance" of the naval forces in the army and the Revolutionary Guards, along with what he described as the zeal and bravery of the people of southern Iran in rejecting the dominance of foreigners.

The Iranian leader affirmed that Tehran shares "one destiny" with its neighbors in the Gulf and Arabian Sea, adding that foreigners coming from thousands of kilometers away "have no place here except at the bottom of the waters."

He stressed that Iran would work to secure the Gulf area and end what he called "the misuse of the enemy" of the Strait of Hormuz, saying that "the legal bases and the new management" of the strait would bring comfort and progress for the benefit of the peoples of the region.

Mojtaba also considered that the "victory" achieved under the policies of resistance and the strategy of "Strong Iran" would be a prelude to "a new order in the region and the world."

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important energy corridors in the world. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, oil flows through it reached about 20 million barrels per day in 2024, equivalent to about 20% of global oil consumption, and about 20% of the global trade in liquefied natural gas passed through it in the same year.
