Khaberni - The Cabinet decided in its session held today, Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, to approve considering the prices of treated and reclaimed water coming from the South Amman purification station as governmental support provided to the coalition of cooperative associations in the Central Badia.
The decision was made because the cooperative associations in the Central Badia exploit the treated and reclaimed water from the South Amman purification station for the purposes of cultivating fodder crops such as alfalfa, which contributed to establishing developmental projects that provided job opportunities for the local residents, aiming to enable them to achieve economic feasibility from these developmental projects and sustain them.
The decision also aims to encourage associations to continue providing fodder for livestock breeders on the one hand, and combat desertification on the other hand.
The decision is expected to contribute to the expansion of agricultural projects that began previously with eight thousand dunums and expanded to reach twenty thousand dunums, and it is expected to increase further, which will contribute to the increase in the number of agricultural projects and hence the employment opportunities arising from them, noting that all workers in the current projects are from the residents of the Central Badia.
