Khaberni - In an unprecedented move in the local markets, a butcher shop in Irbid, north of Jordan offered ostrich and deer meat at a price of 10 dinars per kilogram.

This type of meat is not widely circulated in Jordan, and there is no significant demand for it from the citizens.

Ostrich meat is distinguished by its dark color and beef-like flavor and is classified as one of the healthy red meats due to its low fat and cholesterol levels. It is rich in protein, iron, and essential vitamins, and is used in dishes like burgers and kofta, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a balanced diet.

Deer meat, on the other hand, is rich in protein and low in fat. It has a mild taste and high nutritional value, making it a suitable option for athletes and health enthusiasts. Moreover, regulated deer hunting contributes to environmental balance by supporting forest growth and reducing carbon emissions.
