Khaberni - New leaks have revealed that the first foldable iPhone from Apple will only support an "eSIM" chip, and will include a camera control button despite its ultra-thin design.
In a series of new posts, the account known for leaks, "Instant Digital," noted that "Apple" has made thoughtful engineering compromises to ensure that the first foldable iPhone includes a camera control button, even though it is at least 1.1 mm thinner than the ultra-thin iPhone Air when opened.
According to the leaks, the company’s rationale largely relates to user-friendliness, as "Apple" sees that the steps of making adjustments and taking pictures on competing foldable phones might be "exhausting" due to their large size, according to a report by the tech news site "MacRumors," reviewed by "Arabia Business."
The camera control button is said to be the preferred solution by the company, allowing users to hold the device steadily while making any required adjustments, or to perform them one-handed if they wish.
This will ensure that even when the screen is fully opened, users can perform these operations easily using just one hand.
Despite varying opinions about the "camera control button" in traditional iPhone models, "Apple" believes its practical value will be significantly enhanced in the context of foldable device design.
Based on this, the company's team has made a decisive decision to prioritize this feature – even at the expense of the internal space allocated for arranging internal components – to ensure the inclusion of the camera control button in the first generation of foldable iPhones.
In addition, it seems that "Apple's" photography team in the United States recently visited the city of Shenzhen in China to test the cameras of foldable smartphones from competing brands like "Huawei."
The first foldable iPhone is expected to not include a zoom lens, but rather only have two rear cameras, one wide-angle and the other ultra-wide, as is the case in iPhone 17.
Most high-quality competing foldable smartphones, like Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7, feature three rear cameras, including a zoom lens.
Leaks suggest that there are no indications in the supply chains of preparations or inventory for "SIM" card slot units for the foldable phone, reinforcing expectations that it will rely solely on "eSIM" in all regions, similar to the iPhone Air.
The production of the foldable iPhone in the first year is estimated at about 10 million units, with the price expected to range from 15,000 to 20,000 Chinese yuan (approximately $2,060 to $2,750).
