Iran Araghchi will not meet with the American side in Pakistan

Khaberni - The official Iranian TV correspondent said on Friday evening that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi does not have a scheduled meeting with the American side in Islamabad, but he added that Pakistan can convey Iran's viewpoint regarding ending the war.

Araghchi arrived in Islamabad on Friday, ahead of the anticipated talks, according to the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.

The Pakistani ministry clarified in a statement that Araghchi "will hold meetings with senior Pakistani leaders to discuss the latest regional developments and efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region" without directly mentioning talks with Washington envoys Steve Whitcov and Jared Kushner.

The American envoys, Whitcov and Kushner, are heading to Pakistan on Saturday to conduct a new round of talks with Iran about ending the war, according to an announcement by the White House.

White House spokeswoman Carolaine Levitt told Fox News: "I confirm that the special envoy Whitcov and Jared Kushner will head to Pakistan tomorrow morning to conduct talks ... with representatives of the Iranian delegation."

She indicated that this time, it is not expected that Vice President JD Vance will be on this trip.
