Kuwait Announces Reopening of Its Airspace

Khaberni - The President of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation in Kuwait, Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al-Sabah, announced the reopening of the airspace at Kuwait International Airport starting from today, Thursday, after the temporary and precautionary suspension of flight operations since February 28 due to the situation in the region.

Sheikh Hamoud Al-Sabah told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this step is in coordination with the relevant and international authorities to ensure the resumption of operations according to the highest standards of safety and security.

He added that this step is part of a phased, well-studied plan to resume air traffic gradually in preparation for the full operation of the airport in the upcoming period.

He explained that the "Civil Aviation" has completed assessing the damages sustained by some airport facilities due to the heinous Iranian assault and its proxies and affiliated armed factions, pointing out that technical teams have started maintenance and repair work on operational devices and equipment and infrastructure to ensure full readiness.

He reported that the operation in its initial phase will include specific stations according to operational priorities that ensure the safety of operations, with ongoing assessment of each phase before moving to broader stages.
