Epsteins Ghost Precedes Trump to Journalists Dinner

Khaberni - A report by the American site "Daily Beast" about President Donald Trump's plan to launch a fierce attack on the media during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner scheduled for next Saturday.

Trump plans to launch a "vengeful" attack against various media institutions accusing them of bias against him - including the site - especially in their coverage of the war with Iran, then "escape" - according to the report - before the distribution of journalism awards or entertainment segments.

Epstein's Ghost
Internal sources for the site explain that the president intends to avoid "embarrassment"; he has told his aides that he refuses to be present while "The Wall Street Journal" is awarded the "Katherine Graham" Award for Journalism, for a pioneering report it published about Trump and businessman Jeffrey Epstein, accused of trafficking minors.

The American newspaper had revealed in an exclusive report in July last year, about a letter allegedly written by Trump in 2003 congratulating Epstein on his birthday.

The signed letter included a drawing resembling a nude woman's body, talked about a "secret" shared between the president and the businessman, and ended with the phrase "Happy birthday Jeffrey, may each day bring a wonderful new secret."

Trump denied that the signature on the letter was his, and filed a defamation lawsuit worth $10 billion against the American newspaper and its owner Robert Murdoch, but a judge dismissed the lawsuit last week.

Avoiding Embarrassment
This will be Trump's first official appearance after years of boycotting, which dates back to being mocked harshly by former President Barack Obama at a dinner in 2011.

The president's decision to leave the dinner deviates from the usual practice, as American presidents typically attend the full event, including a segment where a comedian mocks the current administration.

The report sees Trump going further to protect himself from criticism, as this year's comedy show has been replaced by an entertainment show, although the president will not attend the segment anyway.

This move reflects the ongoing deep tension between Trump and the media, especially amid escalating criticism of his policies and his handling of wars.
