Amman Chamber of Commerce discusses with the Czech Ambassador enhancing trade exchange and building quality partnerships

Khaberni - The President of Amman Chamber of Commerce, Senator Khalil Al-Hajj Tawfiq, during the visit of the accredited ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom, Andrea Kotschirova, to the chamber's headquarters on Monday, emphasized the importance of enhancing commercial and investment cooperation between Jordan and the Czech Republic, and developing partnerships between the private sectors of both countries.
According to a statement issued by the chamber, during the meeting, which was attended by the vice presidents of the chamber Nabil Al-Khatib and Bahjat Hamdan and board member Falah Al-Sagheer, mechanisms for activating economic relations and opening broader communication channels between the business communities were discussed, which contributes to enhancing the trade exchange and encouraging joint investments.
Al-Hajj Tawfiq highlighted the importance of Czech companies and businessmen participating in the Jordanian European Investment Conference scheduled to be held at the end of this year, considering it an economic platform to strengthen partnerships and build direct cooperation relations between Jordanian companies and their European counterparts.
He emphasized the chamber’s keenness to organize bilateral business meetings and sectoral gatherings, in addition to exchanging trade delegations, which enhances direct communication between the business communities in Jordan and the Czech Republic, especially through coordination with the chamber’s counterparts in the Czech Republic.
He explained that the economic relations between the two countries span several decades, supported by cooperation agreements with Czech economic institutions, reflecting the robustness of institutional relations, but the volume of trade exchange still falls below aspirations, despite promising opportunities in information technology, cybersecurity, tourism and agriculture, and logistics services.
Al-Hajj Tawfiq stressed the importance of enhancing each side's knowledge of the products and competitive advantages of the other side, noting that expanding the information base among the business communities about available goods and services contributes to increasing trade exchange and building sustainable economic partnerships.
On her part, Ambassador Kotschirova affirmed her country's interest in developing economic relations with Jordan, emphasizing the depth of the political relations between the two countries, and the importance of reflecting it on the level of economic cooperation, pointing out that Jordan enjoys a safe and stable environment that encourages investment.
She noted during the meeting, which was attended by the deputy head of mission and head of the economic and trade department, Tereza Valachkova, the importance of enhancing bilateral economic relations through activating bilateral agreements, exchanging trade delegations, and organizing joint exhibitions, affirming the Czech companies' keenness to explore the investment opportunities available in the Jordanian market.

She also indicated that the Czech side will participate in several upcoming economic events, including the “SOFEX” exhibition and an energy conference, in addition to the importance of enhancing cooperation in the tourism sector, and holding periodic meetings via video communication technology (Zoom) with the stakeholders in both countries.
