Head of Iranian Forensic Medicine 40 of the Victims Bodies are Unidentifiable

Khaberni - Mesjedi said in a press statement that the forensic teams faced exceptional challenges in the identification process, due to the severe damage to the bodies caused by the advanced types of ammunition used in the bombardment, necessitating the use of advanced techniques and precise examinations to achieve reliable results.

He added that "the final toll of the martyrs, from the beginning of what is called 'Ramadan War' until the last hour of April 10, 2026, reached 3,375 martyrs, distributed among 2,875 men and 496 women," confirming that the numbers are accurate and documented according to the adopted legal and scientific procedures.

The Head of Iranian Forensic Medicine pointed out that efforts are ongoing to identify the remaining victims, noting that only 4 bodies are still under examination and analysis due to the severity of the injuries and their complex nature, requiring the use of advanced techniques such as genetic analysis and DNA.

Mesjedi confirmed that the Iranian Forensic Medicine Organization is working in close coordination with all relevant authorities to hand over the bodies of the martyrs to their families after completing the necessary legal and medical procedures, extending his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and appreciating their patience and sacrifices.
