Iran prohibits two tankers from crossing the Strait of Hormuz

Khaberni - Tasnim News Agency reported that the Iranian Armed Forces redirected two tankers that attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday after issuing warnings, indicating that this was a result of the ongoing American maritime blockade on Iran.

The two ships, flying the flags of Botswana and Angola, were forced to return after what the report described as an "unauthorized crossing" through the strategic waterway.

Iran announced on Saturday the resumption of "strict control" over the Strait of Hormuz in response to the ongoing American blockade, retracting its decision the previous day to reopen this vital maritime corridor for global fuel trade.

The Central Operations Room of the Iranian Armed Forces stated that Iran agreed in good faith to allow a limited number of oil tankers and commercial vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz," but "unfortunately, the Americans continue to engage in piracy under the so-called blockade."
