Khaberni - The Directorate of Public Works of Irbid Governorate started on Sunday, implementing a tender to improve the traffic situation at the petroleum road triangular intersection at the entrance of Northern Mazar District, which experiences high traffic density.
Muan Al-Rubadi, the director of Irbid Public Works, stated that the tender, which cost 50,000 dinars, includes the construction of a roundabout at the center of the intersection, laying road foundations and asphalt mixtures, painting, installing speed bumps and curbs, and creating median islands along the four connected roads to separate traffic directions with each island extending 50 meters. This helps to reduce traffic interference that was causing accidents and congestion.
He explained that the technical design of the traffic solutions at the intersection took into account achieving the highest levels of traffic safety for the users of this vital road and improving the flow and organization of traffic, responding to complaints and needs of the road users.
The site of the Petroleum Road triangular intersection serves the residents of Northern Mazar, Kura, Taybeh, West Irbid, and the Northern Jordan Valley districts. Complaints from road users about frequent accidents at the intersection due to high traffic volumes have been significant.
