Khaberni - Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed, on Thursday, the ceasefire announcement made by American President Donald Trump, pointing out that it is a central Lebanese demand pursued by the government from the first day of the war, and it was a Lebanese goal in the Washington meeting on Tuesday.
He continued, in a post on the "X" platform: "I congratulate all the Lebanese on this achievement, and I mourn the martyrs who have fallen, and I confirm my solidarity with their families, and with the injured, and with the citizens who were forced to flee their cities and villages, hoping they will be able to return to them as soon as possible."
He added: "I also cannot but thank all the regional and international efforts that were made to reach this result, particularly by the United States, France, and the European Union countries, and all the Arab brothers, foremost among them the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt, in addition to the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan."
And American President Donald Trump announced that Lebanon and Israel had reached a temporary ceasefire agreement for 10 days.
