Khaberni - Gila Gamliel, a member of the Israeli Security Cabinet, said on Thursday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will speak to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, according to what was reported by Reuters citing Israeli Army Radio.
In response, a Lebanese official said that the Lebanese government has no information about any anticipated contact with the Israeli leadership.
US President Donald Trump said that talks would be held between Israel and Lebanon, in a move aimed at easing tensions between the two sides.
Trump added that the Israeli and Lebanese leaders would have direct talks, noting that “it has been a long time since the leaders spoke, about 34 years, and it will happen tomorrow.”
