Khaberni - In the framework of Amman Arab University's commitment to enhancing direct communication with its students and directing them towards a successful academic journey, the College of Sharia at the university organized an extensive meeting with both new and returning students, attended by Dr. Kifah Alsouri, the dean of the college, Dr. Alaa Al-Bourini, head of the Fiqh and Usul department, and faculty members.
Dr. Alsouri opened the meeting with a welcoming speech where she emphasized that the student is the core of the educational process, stressing the importance of adhering to university regulations and instructions, especially regarding the evaluation and testing mechanisms in face-to-face and blended courses. She encouraged students to regularly attend lectures and keep up with course requirements through e-learning platforms, affirming that attendance is a fundamental pillar for achieving distinguished academic success. The meeting addressed key themes pursued by the college in developing student skills, emphasizing the importance of scientific and practical training through specialized training courses that enhance their efficiency and align with labor market demands. The role of scientific research was highlighted, urging students to engage in quality research projects, as the college is ready to offer the necessary academic support and supervision to enhance the quality of scientific output. On the aspect of student activities, the role of the college's club "Impression of Good" was showcased in embracing youth initiatives and promoting volunteer work, along with encouraging active participation in extracurricular activities for their impact in building the student's character and developing their skills. The meeting also discussed the message of the university's mosque as a cultural and spiritual center contributing to spreading benevolent Islamic values through hosting meaningful events and seminars that enhance religious and community awareness. The meeting featured guest speaker "Khadija Yahya," a graduate who presented her outstanding academic and practical experience, showcasing the major milestones that contributed to her success and offering a package of advice and guidance to her fellow students on how to make the most of their university years in building a promising professional path, which added an atmosphere of motivation and positivity to the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, the college's dean listened to the students' suggestions and recommendations, which reflected a high level of awareness and concern for improving their educational environment. These suggestions included academic demands such as the creation of a "Foundations of Religion" major and a "Master's in Fiqh and Usul" program, in addition to proposals related to enhancing infrastructure, including constructing a lounge specifically for female students, and providing a modern technical laboratory to serve the recitation courses, contributing to supporting the quality of the educational process and enhancing the level of services provided. Dr. Alsouri expressed her appreciation for these constructive proposals, affirming the college's commitment to seriously study them and to follow up in coordination with the university management, in accordance with available resources and in a way that achieves a stimulating university environment that meets the aspirations of the students.
