Macron calls Trump and Bzshkyan to resume Islamabad negotiations

Khaberni - French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he conducted talks with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Bzshkyan and American counterpart Donald Trump, emphasizing to them the necessity of resuming negotiations.

Macron added, in a statement published on his page on the "X" platform on Tuesday, that he urged during the phone calls "to resume the suspended negotiations in Islamabad, clarify misunderstandings, and avoid any further escalation."

He emphasized that "it is particularly necessary to precisely respect the ceasefire by all parties, including Lebanon. Equally important is the unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, without restrictions or fees, as soon as possible."

Macron pointed out that "under these circumstances, negotiations should be able to resume quickly, with the support of the main concerned parties," noting that "France will host a conference in Paris next Friday, gathering via video the non-warring states willing to contribute, alongside us, to a purely defensive multinational mission aimed at restoring freedom of navigation in the strait when security conditions permit."
