Israel blacklists Egyptian satirist

Israel has blacklisted the Egyptian satirist and globally renowned cardiologist Bassem Youssef, along with several prominent media figures and political and human rights activists, within a "blacklist".

The Israeli Ministry of Information and Diaspora published the list, which includes 10 prominent media and human rights figures "based on criteria related to the impact and spread of content, according to the ministry's evaluations".

The channel "i24news" noted that the ministry published a list including prominent names described as "the ten most influential figures in the anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist arena in the world for the year 2025".

The ministry selected these figures, including Arabs, "based on the seriousness of their actions and statements and the scope of their influence and impactful activity against Israeli policies", according to the Hebrew channel.

The Israeli Ministry of the Diaspora's list included Bassem Youssef, Tucker Carlson, Greta Thunberg, Nick Fuentes, Candace Owens, Anastasia Lopes, Dan Bilzerian, among others.

Bassem Youssef was chosen due to the powerful impact of his international statements which the report considered as promoting misleading information and views opposed to Israel, as stated by the Hebrew channel.
