Khaberni - The World Bank President Ajay Banga said on Tuesday that the bank is capable of raising between $80 billion to $100 billion to fund countries severely affected by the fallout of the Iran war over approximately 15 months.
Banga clarified that the funding includes between $20 billion to $25 billion that countries can benefit from through the Crisis Response Window, which allows them to access up to 10% of the approved financing within existing programs, while an additional $30 billion to $40 billion can be provided through the redirection of existing programs.
He added that if the war continues for a longer period, the bank will need to resort to its balance sheet and available resources to find additional financing to reach the required amount, which ranges from $80 billion to $100 billion.
