Khaberni - The city of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon witnesses a fierce battle and fighting between the Israeli army and Hezbollah, amidst a wide field escalation on the eve of an anticipated meeting between Lebanon and Israel in Washington.
The Israeli army announced that 8 soldiers were injured, including two in moderate condition and six with minor injuries, due to being targeted by an explosive drone in southern Lebanon, with the injured being transported for treatment.
In the context, Rambam Hospital reported the arrival of two soldiers injured by shrapnel from the battlefield, noting that it has received 81 soldiers injured from the Lebanese front since the beginning of the war, in addition to 314 civilians due to rocket-related incidents.
On the field, the Israeli army announced that it "has completed the encirclement of Bint Jbeil and began attacking it", claiming to have eliminated more than 100 Hezbollah elements during direct clashes and through air raids.
On the other hand, the National News Agency in Lebanon reported that fierce clashes erupted within the city, confirming that the Israeli forces are attempting to penetrate and control neighborhoods in it, amid reports of them suffering losses during the confrontations.
Hezbollah also announced targeting gatherings of vehicles and Israeli army soldiers at several points inside the city and its surroundings, including Shemran Hill and Saf al-Hawa area and around Al-Ishraq School.
According to field data, satellite images showed Israeli tanks positioned on the outskirts of the city, while the Israeli army continues its ground operations in conjunction with intense air raids.
This escalation comes in the context of Israeli talks about expanding operations in southern Lebanon, where Benjamin Netanyahu said that the fighting "will continue in Lebanon", pointing out that the current focus is on Bint Jbeil, with efforts to establish a "security belt" in the south.
