The King receives the Syrian ministerial delegation participating in meetings of the Joint Supreme Coordination Council

Khaberni  - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday, received the Syrian ministerial delegation participating in the activities of the second session of the Supreme Coordination Council between Jordan and Syria, in the presence of His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince.

During the meeting, which took place at the Al Husseiniya Palace, His Majesty emphasized the need to continue working on developing economic and trade relations and enhancing security cooperation between the two countries in a way that achieves mutual interests.

His Majesty pointed out that the convening of the second session of the Joint Supreme Coordination Council is an important step to push relations forward, emphasizing the necessity for the meetings to contribute to the implementation of joint work agreements.

The council represents 20 vital sectors and aims to elevate Jordanian-Syrian relations towards comprehensive strategic partnership in various fields.

Opportunities for cooperation in several sectors were discussed, such as water, transport, and energy, where His Majesty highlighted the importance of integration among Arab countries and working on joint projects to enhance regional cooperation.

His Majesty reiterated Jordan's support for Syria's efforts to maintain its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Director of His Majesty's Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh, Minister of Water and Irrigation Engineer Raed Abu Saud, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Engineer Yaarub Qudah, and Jordanian Ambassador to Syria Dr. Sofian Qudah.

Also present from the Syrian side were the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Assad Al-Shibani, and the ministers of economy and industry, energy, justice, health, transport, agriculture, higher education and scientific research, education, social affairs and labor, communications and information technology, media, religious affairs, tourism, administrative development, and several other officials.
