The French Court Convicts a Lawyer in the Saad Lamjarred Extortion Case

Khaberni - After months of legal disputes, the French criminal court in the capital Paris acquitted young Laura Prioul of the charge of attempting to extort star Saad Lamjarred, in a file related to accusations of trying to obtain financial amounts to retract her statements in the assault case that started years ago.

The criminal court acquitted the young French woman of the charge. However, it convicted five out of six defendants in the same file pursued by Moroccan star Saad Lamjarred to regain his status and rights, with sentences ranging from six months imprisonment suspended to one year imprisonment enforced.

Conviction of a lawyer and banning her from practicing
Information indicates that among those convicted in the case is a lawyer of the Paris Bar Association, who was sentenced to two years imprisonment suspended, with a ban on practicing law for ten years.

The prosecution had previously sentenced Laura Prioul to one year of suspended imprisonment, along with a financial penalty of 20,000 euros, on accusations related to attempts to extort Saad Lamjarred, by demanding a sum of approximately 3 million euros in exchange for retracting her statements in the complicated assault case.
