Khaberni - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan surprised his audience with personal confessions about one of the toughest periods of his life, speaking for the first time about his struggle with alcohol addiction following his separation from his first wife Reena Dutta.
During his appearance on the program «Duologue with Barun Das», Khan showed a human side far from his known image of discipline and precision, explaining how this phase nearly impacted his career.
Khan explained that Reena Dutta leaving the house with their two children after the separation was a moment of breakdown for him, as he could not handle the sudden feeling of loneliness.
He mentioned that he resorted to excessive drinking, saying that he was consuming almost a full bottle daily for a year and a half, even though he was not accustomed to drinking except under situations related to filming.
Khan's relationship with Reena dates back to 1986, when he married her at the age of twenty-one, and the marriage lasted about 16 years, resulting in two children, Ira and Junaid, before ending in divorce.
After that, he entered into a second marriage with director Kiran Rao in 2005, which also ended in separation in 2021, while maintaining a friendly relationship and cooperation in raising the children.
After years of personal upheavals, Khan announced entering a new phase in his romantic life, confirming his relationship with Gauri Sapat, in a step that reflects a reconciliation with the past.
