Khaberni - Muhammad Al-Hilu spoke about the truth of his retirement from the art scene, revealing the behind-the-scenes of his recent absence, during his guest appearance in the program «People's Talk» with the media personality «Yasmin Az» on MBC Egypt.
Al-Hilu explained that his distance does not constitute a final decision to retire. He indicated that he might return at any time if a suitable artistic opportunity arises, saying that «the situation is not good» currently, but he does not rule out changing his decision in the future.
He also recalled contemplating retirement about 20 years ago, explaining that certain conditions within the artistic community at that time pushed him to make this decision, before he later retracted it.
In another context, Al-Hilu denied any conflict between him and the artist Ali Al-Hajjar, affirming that their relationship is based on respect and long-standing friendship, and that the controversy related to the credits of drama works did not affect their relationship.
Al-Hilu discussed the behind-the-scenes of some of his famous works, praising his experience with composer Ammar El-Sherei and poet Ahmed Fouad Negm, confirming that these works formed an important part of his artistic career, and achieved wide success with the audience.
He also expressed his great love for the city of Alexandria, describing it as «the bride of the sea», noting his artistic and emotional connection to it, due to its unique and distinctive character in the Egyptian artistic memory.
