International Air Transport Association Return of aircraft fuel supplies and prices to normal will take months

Khaberni - The Director General of the International Air Transport Association, Willie Walsh, confirmed on Wednesday that restoring aircraft fuel supplies and prices to normal levels will take several months, even with the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Walsh, in remarks to journalists in Singapore, said that returning to required supply levels requires time due to disruptions in refining capacity in the Middle East, adding: "I do not think this will happen within a few weeks."

He added that the ongoing disruption in refining capacity will keep the problem in place for a while, even if crude oil flows resume.

His statements came after oil prices had seen a sharp decline following a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, which includes a temporary reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
