Khaberni - The Ministry of Education in Egypt has decided to suspend classes tomorrow in all schools due to weather fluctuations including winds and rains that may affect students.
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education announced the suspension of classes this Wednesday, in all schools across the Republic, in light of forecasts of poor weather conditions and unstable weather.
The ministry clarified in an official statement that the decision is taken out of concern for the safety of students, teachers, and educational system employees, coinciding with warnings from the General Authority of Meteorology about a severe weather wave hitting the country.
It pointed out that the reports issued confirm the activity of winds raising sand and dust, which leads to reduced horizontal visibility, alongside the possibility of various intensities of rainfall in a number of provinces, which may hinder mobility and pose risks to students.
The ministry confirmed that the decision includes government, private, and international schools, with the postponement of exams that were scheduled to be held, and alternative dates will be announced later in coordination with educational directorates.
It emphasized the continuous operation of central and branch operations rooms to monitor weather conditions around the clock, coordinating with relevant authorities to deal with any developments.
The ministry urged parents to follow official announcements and not to succumb to rumors, affirming that any new decisions will be immediately announced through official channels.
It also appealed to students to utilize the day off from school for revision, while adhering to safety measures and avoiding being in open or near trees and light poles during periods of wind activity.
