Today, Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan issued a directive requiring the rationalization of consumption and the control of expenditure in all governmental institutions, official departments, and public bodies, under the current circumstances. Pursuant to the directive, the Prime Minister decided to restrict the use of government vehicles to official purposes only, prohibiting their use outside official working hours, and cancelling all previous approvals and exceptions in this regard.
The directive also includes a suspension of travel for delegations and official committees abroad for two months from its date, except in cases of extreme necessity, and for justified reasons with prior approval from the Prime Minister.
It also includes the suspension of hosting official delegations for two months, starting from its date. The directive also mandates the prohibition of using air conditioners and any other heating means in ministries, public institutions, and government departments. The Prime Minister, pursuant to the directive, tasked the Audit Bureau and internal control units with monitoring the implementation of these measures and reporting any violations or breaches. The directive also emphasized the continuation of measures related to the rationalization and control of expenditure in accordance with the previous cabinet decisions on this matter.
