Partial Reopening of AlNuaymat Villages Road in Maan for Small Vehicles

Khaberni - The Greater Ma'an Municipality, in collaboration with the Joint Services Council for Ma'an Governorate, announced on Friday morning the partial and temporary reopening of Al-Nu'aymat Villages Road near Sail Dabat Al-Karm for small vehicles, following its precautionary closure on Thursday due to rising water levels and strong flood flows resulting from the country's weather conditions.

The municipality confirmed that the decision to reopen the road came after the water levels decreased and a preliminary inspection of the site was conducted, indicating that the road reopening is provisional until the overall assessment of the road and surrounding area is completed by the specialized engineering team.

The municipality explained that barriers and warning signs have been placed at the site in cooperation with the Joint Services Council. The water levels are being continuously and jointly monitored to ensure the safety of citizens and to take necessary actions in case of any new developments.

Rakan Al-Rawad, the acting head of the Greater Ma'an Municipality Committee, affirmed that the specialized engineering teams would immediately start comprehensive assessment inspections of the damages to various locations within the city caused by the weather conditions, as soon as the weather depression recedes, in preparation for taking the necessary technical measures to address the damages and rehabilitate according to priorities.

The Greater Ma'an Municipality urged citizens to exercise caution and vigilance while using the road, and not to stop or gather near the stream course. It also stressed the importance of not crossing the site in case of rising water levels or renewed flow of the stream under any circumstances, and to fully comply with the barriers and instructions issued by the municipal staff and relevant authorities to ensure public safety.
