The raging war, burning, continuing between America and the Zionist enemy on one hand, and Iran on the other, has revealed much of what was hidden, and the unknown has become known and confirmed. It also highlighted the weakness of the Arab countries in the face of any external threat. It confirmed that the Asian Arab countries have submitted to the role of the receiver of strikes and bombings and assaults. Our skies and lands have been violated, and we have become tempting and easy targets, and the reason lies in our weakness resulting from our dispersion, and our fragmentation as Arabs.
Here, we weakened when we abandoned our Arab identity, and we did not invest in our national dimension, in which lies our honor, strength, and dignity. We have reached a point of degeneration and decline to the extent that we rejected everyone with a nationalist orientation, and anyone who believes that the strength of the Arabs lies in their unity, and considered them as if they carry a strange demonic thought.
O free Arabs, those of you who still have even a spark of Arab identity, I hope you consider the current war a harsh lesson. Because it has revealed that we have become easy prey for every greedy and aspiring person. To the extent that every fighting party in the war, if it wishes to escalate, threatens to destroy us. And this confirmed the truth of what I said in an article of mine weeks before the war started that we will be the battlefield and the fuel of the war.
O free Arabs, we do not seek unity, or federation, ever. Let every Arab leader stay in his position, and in his seat of governance. Let the borders between the Arab countries remain as they are. And let each Arab country be completely independent from the other Arab countries. And let every Arab country pursue the policy it wants freely, without any interference from any other Arab country. Even we do not want to return to the gloomy and outdated Arab defense and economic cooperation agreement, which has been signed 76 years ago, on June 17, 1950, because it has rotted in the drawers.
We also do not wish to replicate the European Union experience, ever. What we wish is to learn from this war, and that an Arab army be created from all Arab countries with a strength of (100 - 150) thousand soldiers. Its mission would be to defend the Arab countries when they are threatened by foreign countries. And the leadership of this army would be subject to a unified leadership council representing the Arab countries, and it would obey its command.
After establishing this army, the Arab countries would play a political role in forming alliances and mutual defense agreements with some countries that are not involved in alliances with major countries, to reinforce their position stronger and firmer.
If this army existed, our Arab countries would not have been violated by America, through establishing its military bases, and Iran would not have dared to violate our Arab skies, and our countries would not have been bombed, and our infrastructure and national facilities would not have been targeted.
Has not the time come for us to wake from our deep sleep? Have not our foreheads sweated with shame over what is happening to us now? Is there anything left of Arab dignity?
Where are we from the Abbasid Caliph / Al-Mu'tasim, who responded to a lady and fought a fierce war just because a lady cried out: "wa Aamaa'amutasimah?" in response to the Byzantine Emperor / Theophilos, who attacked the city of Amorium and captured Muslim women. Al-Mu'tasim prepared a huge army and conquered the city of Amorium, one of the most fortified castles of the Romans, during Ramadan, and the poet / Abu Tammam immortalized this event in his poem:—
"The sword is more truthful in its reports than the books / in its edge the line between seriousness and play."
Until he says:—
"Among your days in which you were victorious / and the days of Badr, the closest kin."
You left the sons of Asfar (the Byzantines) sickly as their name suggests / pale-faced, and you glorified the faces of the Arabs."
If what we have suffered in the current war does not push us to look into our disgraceful, weak, and gloomy condition, and we strive for radical Arab solutions to ensure what happened due to this war does not repeat, then we should bid farewell to our Arab nation, because we will become a punching bag for all countries of the world.
All our days will turn into festivals, and we will regain something of our lost dignity, if this war leads our leaders to take strong protective Arab stances based on our sources of strength, to regain our honor. This is what all free Arabs hope, those who are still biting their jaws to keep the spark of Arabness burning until God wills, and we leave the bottom rung of nations, and rise and transform from a state of decline to prosperity.
