Khaberni - Data released by the Jordan Navigation Syndicate revealed the effect of rerouting shipping routes from the Bab el Mandeb Strait to the Cape of Good Hope, which caused a significant increase in the distances of sea voyages by thousands of miles, directly impacting the delivery time.
According to the "Strategic Navigational Report", the journey from Shanghai (China) increased from 6,100 nautical miles to 9,500 nautical miles, resulting in a delay ranging from 10 to 13 days, and the journey from Singapore now takes 25-27 days, instead of 15-17 days. Moreover, journeys from Jebel Ali (UAE) recorded the highest percentage of time delay, where the duration of the journey increased from 6-8 days to 20-24 days, with an increased distance of 4,800 nautical miles.
The ongoing war between America, Israel, and Iran has caused shipping lines to impose a series of additional charges under various names to counter geopolitical risks, including a mandatory rerouting fee, ranging from 700 to 800 dollars, and additional emergency fees, with the highest reaching 3500 dollars, war risk fees, ranging from 1500 to 3500 dollars, and conflict emergency fees, which registered amounts between 2000-4000 dollars, in addition to emergency fuel surcharges, which added costs ranging from 30 to 400 dollars.
