AlBadour 182 LifeSaving Catheterizations During the Cardiac Clot Protocol in February

Khaberni - Minister of Health Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badour stated that the Ministry of Health hospitals conducted 182 urgent and emergency cardiac catheterizations (life-saving) during the period from February 1 to 28, 2026, as part of the implementation of the approved protocol for treating acute cardiac clots with catheterization, which was launched starting from the first of February.

Al-Badour explained that the implementation of these cases came as part of the procedures taken by the ministry to activate emergency cardiac catheterization during the period from 4 PM to 8 AM the following day, aiming to accelerate therapeutic intervention for emergency cases and improve the chances of saving patients.

He noted that the cases were distributed among a number of the ministry's hospitals, where Al-Basheer Hospital recorded 48 cases, Prince Hamzah Hospital 44 cases, Zarqa Governmental Hospital 40 cases, New Al-Hussein Al-Salt Hospital 21 cases, Princess Basma and King Abdullah the Founder Hospital 17 cases, and Karak and Tafilah Governmental Hospitals 12 cases.

Al-Badour indicated that these numbers do not include the emergency and routine catheterizations that are conducted during the morning period, pointing out that the hospitals equipped for cardiac therapeutic interventions have been enhanced with rotating technical staff working around the clock and throughout the week to ensure quick handling of critical cases.

He affirmed that the ministry has linked its other hospitals to the hospitals equipped for cardiac catheterization according to a specific operating mechanism that allows the direct transfer of cardiac clot cases to receive the necessary treatment as quickly as possible.

Al-Badour emphasized the importance of adhering to the medically approved therapeutic protocols known globally, which contributes to enhancing the speed of response to critical cases and improving the quality of medical care provided to patients.

He mentioned that the implementation of the cardiac clot treatment protocol comes as part of the ministry's plan to enhance the quality of health services and establish uniform therapeutic protocols for critical cases, matching the latest globally approved therapeutic methods, improving the chances of life-saving, and reducing health complications.
