According to American media, Graham justifies this by stating that Hezbollah is "stained with American blood," and that it is necessary to assist Israel in destroying its infrastructure in Lebanon, considering Iran as the "mother of terrorism" and that it is imperative to eliminate its proxy in Lebanon.
These calls come amid escalating tensions in March 2026 with increased Israeli bombardment in southern and eastern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of its capital, along with increased Hezbollah attacks on northern Israel, where Graham emphasized that the opportunity is ideal for "eliminating them" (Hezbollah) during their moment of weakness.
