Khaberni - Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was martyred today, Wednesday, in the raid that targeted the town of Tyre in southern Lebanon.
Earlier today, the National News Agency in Lebanon reported that a Red Cross vehicle carrying journalist Zeinab Faraj from the town of Tyre came under hostile fire.
A video clip documented the moments when ambulances entered the town of Tyre in an attempt to reach the journalists Zeinab Faraj and Amal Khalil, after they were surrounded by the Israeli occupation army.
According to local media reports, the Israeli army targeted a vehicle in the town, resulting in the martyrdom of two passengers, then surrounded the two journalists.
A Lebanese military source confirmed that an army patrol accompanied the Red Cross to the town of Tyre despite the lack of response from the Israeli occupation army.

In the meantime, a senior Lebanese military official told Reuters that an Israeli drone dropped a hand grenade on rescuers trying to extricate a wounded journalist from the rubble in the town of Tyre.
Lebanon said on Wednesday that the Israeli army is besieging two journalists in the town of Tyre in the district of Bint Jbeil in the south of the country, preventing the Red Cross from reaching them.
The National News Agency reported that an Israeli raid targeted the main road, connecting the towns of Tyre and Hadatha (south), to prevent ambulance teams from reaching the journalists.
This is not the first targeting of journalists during the war on Lebanon; Between 2023 and 2024, at least five journalists were martyred by Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon.
Last month, journalist Ali Shaib from "Al-Manar" channel was directly targeted on the Jezzine road in southern Lebanon, which led to his martyrdom, and he was officially mourned by the channel.
Alongside him, "Al-Mayadeen" channel's correspondent Fatima Fatouni and her brother, photographer Mohammad Fatouni, were martyred due to this targeting.
On October 13, 2023, journalist Essam Abdullah from Reuters was martyred during the Gaza Support War in the area of Alma Al Shaab.
Six other journalists were injured, including France Press agency journalists Dylan Collins and Christina Assi, who had her right leg amputated during their coverage of the war in southern Lebanon.
An investigation conducted by "France Press" in collaboration with the British group of independent experts and investigators "Airwars" concluded that a 120 mm tank shell used exclusively by the Israeli army in the region was the ammunition used in the strike at the time.
In September 2024, the town of Hasbaya witnessed the martyrdom of three journalists. The journalistic targets included Farah Omar and photographer Rabie Al-Maamari from "Al-Mayadeen" channel.
