Khaberni - Faiz Al-Nahar, head of the Public Service and Administration Authority, confirmed that the decisive factor in deciding to close government departments for 3 days is the continuity of service provision with existing efficiency and effectiveness, pointing out that any impact on this continuity will determine the fate of the decision in terms of timing and implementation.
Al-Nahar added to "Al-Mamlaka" on Sunday, that the reasons for opting to reduce the number of working days include increasing employee productivity, achieving a balance between their work and personal life, and reducing operational costs for both the government and employees.
He explained that the idea has positive implications for employees, by giving them space to improve their capabilities or to pursue private projects that provide additional income.
Al-Nahar envisaged options that the government might adopt, including a gradual transition in the most digitally mature departments at the service level.
He added that among the proposals are also the application of two types of flexible work patterns within the same department, namely remote work, and flexible starting and ending hours.
He indicated that some positions might be offered the option of flexible work within the proposed models, such as administrative and intellectual jobs, and those involved in the field of studies and others.
