Arrest of over 100 Palestinians in the West Bank since the beginning of Ramadan

Khaberni - Since the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan, Israeli occupation forces have arrested over 100 Palestinians from the West Bank, including women and children, in addition to former prisoners.

The Prisoner's Club stated in a release issued on Sunday that these arrest campaigns coincide with the occupation's declaration of the intensification of arrest operations at the start of Ramadan, which recently provided cover for widespread arrest operations in the West Bank due to settler attacks.

The arrests were distributed across most governorates of the West Bank, including Jerusalem, which experiences extensive arrests during Ramadan, usually ending in the exclusion from the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In addition, the occupation continues to escalate field interrogation operations as part of collective retaliatory actions targeting all segments of Palestinian society, affecting thousands since the beginning of genocide. The brutalities that accompany field interrogation operations are on a level with the torture that accompanies actual arrest operations.

It also addressed a series of crimes and violations that consistently accompany the arrest operations, including severe beatings, organized acts of terror against the detainees and their families, alongside widespread damage and destruction of Palestinian homes, confiscation of vehicles, money, and gold jewelry, in addition to the destruction of infrastructure and demolition of prisoners' families' homes, using members of their families as hostages, use of detainees as human shields, and carrying out field executions.

It noted that the occupation exploits arrests as a cover to expand settlements in the West Bank, supported by settlers who currently constitute the most significant tool for imposing a new reality in the West Bank, particularly following decisions seeking to annex the West Bank.

The Prisoner's Club reaffirmed that all current occupation crimes are an extension of the occupation's long-standing policy targeting Palestinian existence and imposing more tools of repression, control, and surveillance. The only change since the start of the genocide war is in the level of intensity of crimes, whether crimes accompanying arrest operations or crimes against prisoners within prisons and camps.

It emphasized that the occupation authorities are continuing to carry out systematic arrest operations, which historically represent one of the most consistent policies implemented daily against Palestinians, noting that the number of arrest cases in the West Bank post-genocide reached about 22,000 cases.
