Khaberni - Judicial authorities in Egypt returned Sarah Khalifa to her detention, after listening to her statements regarding the incident of possessing a mobile phone within the detention premises.
This came after the phone was found in her possession during her stay in custody, and the necessary legal proceedings were taken regarding the incident, which was referred to the investigation at the competent prosecution.
A legal source confirmed that investigations continued for hours with the accused about the circumstances of possessing the phone, before a decision was made to return her to her detention pending further investigations, with the confiscated phone being held as exhibits in the case.
These measures come in light of continuous monitoring by security and judicial authorities of all incidents related to the accused, especially in the original case against her concerning "drug trafficking and manufacturing," with the final judgment expected to be issued soon.
Sarah Khalifa is an Egyptian producer who appeared on the art scene before her name got involved in a major criminal file, after being arrested in 2025 in a case of importing and manufacturing drugs.
During the house search, quantities of drugs, manufacturing equipment, machinery, and financial amounts were found making her one of the main suspects in the case being considered by the Cairo Criminal Court, alongside several other defendants, while legal proceedings continue in preparation for the final verdict.
