Jordan  The government imposes export fees on copper scrap

Khaberni  -  The government decided to impose fees on the export of copper scrap amounting to 250 dinars per ton / according to what was stated in the Official Gazette.

Following is the decision :

Decision to approve the imposition of export fees on copper scrap

Based on the recommendation of the Economic Upgrading and Development Committee issued during its session held on 2026/2/15  the Council of Ministers in its session decided to approve the following:

•              First: To impose export fees on copper scrap valued at (two hundred and fifty dinars) per ton.

•              Second: This decision shall cover the exports of copper scrap from the kingdom to the free zones and copper scrap entering from the kingdom to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, exempting transit goods from these fees.

•              Third: To exempt copper scrap as an input to factories located and producing in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone and the free zones from these fees, and if the incoming scrap to these factories is exported without manufacturing operations on it, it will be subject to the fee upon its export.

•              Fourth: This decision shall include exports of copper scrap collected in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the free zones.

•              Fifth: To charge the higher export duty if the copper scrap is mixed with other metal scrap.

•              Sixth: To delegate the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply with the authority to grant export exceptions in case of surplus copper scrap beyond the needs of local factories.

•              Seventh: This decision takes effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
