Khaberni - Today on Wednesday, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Azmi Governorate, issued an important circular to all Jordanian higher education institutions, both public and private, demanding them to adhere to the instructions for calculating lectures and training programs for higher education students within military service and the reserve service, issued according to Article 14 of the Military Service and Reserve Service Law No. 23 of 1986 and its amendments.
Governorate emphasized in his circular that the students who graduated from the Jordanian General Secondary Certificate in the supplementary session 2025-2026, and who have been called to perform military service starting from 1-2-2026, have the right (after verifying their call through the text message sent to their mobile phones, or any other method), to benefit from the instructions referred to above, according to the following:
1) It is necessary for a first-degree relative to visit the university/college to complete the registration procedures in the official universities whether in the regular program if nominated by the Unified Admissions Coordination Unit, or in the parallel program if nominated by the concerned university, in addition to registration in private universities and colleges.
2) The university/college will collect registration fees that are paid only once at the time of the student's acceptance without levying any other fees, and without registering any credit hours.
3) After the conscript completes his service period, the General Command of the Armed Forces will provide the ministry and higher education institutions with lists including the names of students who have completed their military service. Accordingly, the current semester, the second semester 2025-2026, will be deemed deferred for the student, and (12) credit hours from his/her study plan will be credited according to the instructions referred to above.
4) The arrangements mentioned above shall apply to all students enrolled at the beginning of the second semester 2025-2026, whether at the Bachelor's degree level or at the Intermediate Diploma level.
