Huweshil Akroush From Artillery Fields to Serving Fuhais The Portrait of a Leader with Human Features
الكاتب: حازم عكروش

‏In the art of news photography, it’s not only the features that are captured, but also the soul, the experience, and the history. Here, the image of Huweshil Akroush forms as a character who merged the strictness of the military with the warmth of social presence, transforming his life story into a multi-dimensional human canvas in the memory of Fuhais city.
‏Akroush is one of the prominent names that made a clear impact in both the military and community institutions. He began his career in the ranks of the Jordanian Arab Army, born in Fuhais, holding a Bachelor of Military Science from the Staff College, and a Master of Military and Administrative Sciences from Mutah University.
‏After graduating from the military college, he advanced in ranks and positions until he assumed command of the Artillery Corps, a high-ranking position demanding high competence and strict discipline. Known for his firmness and adherence during that phase, alongside a strategic vision that contributed to improving the performance of the artillery and enhancing its defensive readiness, garnering him respect from the leadership and his comrades-in-arms.
‏He participated in the wars fought by the Arab Army defending Jordan and Palestine against the Israeli occupation, embodying the image of a soldier who sees duty as honor and the land as dignity.

‏The truth is that Abu Mazhar was not given his rightful military rank as an artillery commander due to his early retirement, which indicates that some military and administrative leaderships do not appreciate their members and are governed by personal conflicts, grudges, and poor judgment.
‏However, Akroush's life did not stop at the army fields. After his retirement, he returned to his city of Fuhais, carrying his leadership experience and disciplined spirit, to assume the presidency of its municipality. From day one, he worked diligently and faithfully, aiming to make Fuhais a city befitting its history and its people. He succeeded and erred, yet his leadership presence remained notable, and his pursuit of development never ceased.
‏Socially, Akroush emerged as a unifying figure, present in national, religious, and social events, standing by his townspeople in their joys and sorrows. He was known for his initiative, efforts to resolve disputes, and to enhance harmony among people, which solidified his status as one of the trusted men of Fuhais who combined firmness, kindness, leadership, and a humane spirit.
‏Those who knew him closely describe his presence as majestic and dignified, reminding of the early men of Fuhais who established values of belonging, dignity, and defense of their city. People's appreciation of him didn't come from nowhere but from his known high morality, extensive courtesy, cleanliness of hand, and respect for young before the old.
‏During his presidency of the municipality, he was distinguished by his broad-mindedness and ability to accommodate different opinions, whether they were supportive or opposing, and respect them.
‏In tribal reconciliations and negotiations, he never rejected a mediation request from any person or tribe and was known for his sharpness and tact in choosing words in such situations, weighing his phrases with the scales of wisdom and gold, striving to mend relations and enhance accord among people.
‏Despite the extensive appreciation he receives, Akroush, like others, is a human with his strengths and weaknesses; opinions may differ or positions may diverge, which is natural in public work. However, what remains constant in his image is that he is truthful, loyal to his city and homeland, and always eager to remain faithful to the land and its people in every position he held.
‏Thus the features of Abu Mazhar are complete: a leader in the field, a servant to his community, and a human who left a mark in memory before the place.
