Our region is experiencing, and we with it, a destructive war by all standards, and at this stage of the war, it is difficult to predict how far it can go, and even at this moment, it portends more dangers to the region and the world as a whole, not only from the perspective of its impact on supplies of oil, gas, and food but also from the perspective of the conflict between the poles (America, China, Russia, and the European Union), a conflict that exists, and this war may be a precursor to upcoming stages!
What matters to us is to understand what is truly happening, and how to deal with the crisis that places our location and stance within its raging fire, taking into account that Arab national security, which encompasses us, is threatened more than ever and is under direct military attack from Iran, resulting in severe daily losses in economic infrastructure, particularly energy infrastructure and exports and imports, among others, necessitating the transformation of the concept of national security into an effective and deterrent operation.
This war was not a surprise for us; it was within the expectations of His Majesty King Abdullah II, who did everything within his power to avoid it through his relentless communications with world leaders, based on his understanding of all the factors and plans aimed at igniting it, with an opportunity to contain it if all effective powers united on a position based on international law for conflict resolution and maintaining regional and international security and peace.
Now that the fires of this war have been kindled, it is natural, objective, and logical that the security and stability of our country and its supreme interests be our highest priority in its specific and clear dimensions, at the forefront of which is the strategic crisis management conducted by His Majesty the King, head of state and supreme commander of our armed forces, leading and directing the government and both public and private state institutions to continue their path despite obstacles caused by the war, furthering his efforts on the national and international levels to create a space for reason and wisdom, reduce escalation, and stop the war before it gets out of control and sends the world to the abyss!
Priorities that impose themselves include the priority of rationalizing energy consumption for which the government has taken a first step in line with this stage of the crisis, as well as ensuring a sufficient stock of essential needs like food and medicine, and importantly, expanding the concept of crisis management or management in crisis to all sectors according to potential damage it may face if the war continues or escalates to something worse.
The priority of national consensus on deepening unity in the stance towards the security, stability, and safety of Jordan and reinforcing its strength and steadfastness in facing the current crisis is a national duty of great importance to be an effective element in the elements of strength and ability to face the risks and challenges, and to complete the circle of harmony, interaction, and unity with our leader and our armed forces and those guarding the security, stability, and protection of our country’s resources, achievements, and the future of its generations.
Today, we are closer than ever to a unified stance as we have sufficient awareness to understand the reality, nature, repercussions, and outcomes of this war, and the time has come to activate this awareness to become an important part in the vitality of the state and its will to protect itself and continue its developmental project!
